If visiting Tarifa I recommend you get onto the sand dunes! From tarifa you head West on the main N340 towards Vejer de la Frontera / Conil and drive about 5 miles along the road with the beach and all the windsurf schools on your left. Then take a left turn (I think signposted Something Paloma) and drive up this small road about a mile into woods. Here you can park on the side of the road and take a walk / stagger / jump down the beautiful dunes onto the superb beach. On this beach if you see a load of green faced aliens :-) do not be concerned - join in - take a walk along the beach in the direction of the green faced aliens and take a free mud pack beauty treatment with the locals.
