Spam / Abuse

Sad to say we found Lisbon to be dissapointing. We got the train into Lisbon from Estoril (which is a nice place). Then walked in from the station to the city centre. Many of the buildings look very run down (a local told us this was due to Lisbon rents being capped so low landlords cannot afford to maintain the properties to a high standard). Then walking around the place it just seemed a little dirty and down market, for what we were expecting. One of those places where you kept a tight hold on your handbag. This maybe unfair as I have no idea on the crime rates but it was just the feeling you had. On a second day we went to Park des Nacoes (sorry not sure on the spelling but this is the old expo park) - this was a lovely area and we much preferred this to the centre.
