There’s so much to see in New York City and what better way to discover it than with your camera in hand. Photo Walk-abouts are unique new walking tours that focus on teaching the participants to take better photos. The tours combine fascinating historical commentary with expert tips on photography.
Each tour starts with a brief lesson on photography complete with visual elements. Participants are then escorted along the route while the guide gives historical background on the sights along the way. At various points in time participants are given the opportunity to explore an area with their cameras.
The tours are a great hands on learning experience. Tours are lead by expert photographers who are also licensed tour guides. A fancy camera isn’t needed to participate and even a simple disposable camera or two will work. For those who wish to learn more about their cameras, however, there will be ample opportunity to ask questions along the way.
Tours run year round, rain or shine. Tours of Greenwich Village, Central Park, and Wall Street/the Financial District are available. All tours last approximately two and a half hours. Private tours and group tours are also available (fee minimums apply).

Special Notes
Walks proceed at a leisurely pace. Total walking distance is around 1 mile.
Tours run year-round rain or shine (you can get some great photos in the rain). Dress appropriately for the weather. If it's hot out you may want to bring a bottle of water; if it's raining you may want to bring a disposable plastic bag to keep your camera dry.
