Description

Mountain biking in Norway is fantastic, whilst it is still relatively new, experts are saying its some of the best in Europe if not the world.

With opportunities to do Freeride, Downhill, Dirtjumping, Single Tracks and Cross-Country all in the resort of Hafjell it really does offer everything for the enthusiast or first timer!

The season for mountain biking starts in June and ends on October! We recommend visiting between mid June-August to really experience everything the resort has to offer.

Why is the Mountain Biking in Norway so Good?

The Mountain in Hafjell sits at a height of 1065m above see level, because of this there is no altitude at all. Cyclists love this.

The cross-country and single tracks biking in Norway is superb. Most trails are up on the Mountain Plateau. With access to hundreds of km each day the options are endless. The trails have been in existence for hundreds of years, used by cross-county skiers in the winter time, hikers & cyclists in the Summer time. The terrain is 100% natural and really offers some spectacular riding. The extra bonus of the midnight sun means days are long and the riding can never stop if thats what you want!

Whilst we usually have great weather in Norway during the summer, the heat doesn't become unmanageable. For bikers doing downhill, wearing body armour and full helmets this is a fantastic advantage. With sunny days hitting the mid 25's to low 30's in temperature, the biking is easier and much more comfortable.

Due to the way the resorts are designed, the accommodation available in resort matches the lift capacity. This means just one thing, no lift queues.

Norway in Winter and Summer is often compared to Canada, the similarity is shocking. The terrain is tree lined, with trails through the forrests. This makes for an interesting and varied day on the Mountain.

Norway is so close to the UK, with less than a 2 hour flight from most major airports including all London airports, Manchester, Edinburgh, East Midlands & Bristol and less than a 2 hour transfer into the Mountain bike areas it is great for a holiday or even a long weekend.
