Description
In 2011, the pretty Andalucian village of Juzcar, just south west of the mountain town of Ronda, became the World's first Smurf Village.
After agreeing a deal with the movie giants Sony, to help promote their new 3D Smurf film, the village acheived world wide fame!
Some 9,000kg of 'Smurf Blue' paint was used to transform almost every building in the village - around 250 buildings including the church, the town hall and most private dwellings! There are one or two white 'grumpy smuf' houses!
A great fun place to visit.
On 18th December 2011 the local villagers voted in favour of retaining the Blue, as a result of the positive impact from tourism, to the village.
