Northern Spain combination of mountains, flat lands, great roads and mild spring weather make it a popular destination for many pro teams for pre
season training. Our Training Camp provides a stress free environment to get some quality miles into your legs and as with our based schedule we will
provide full support on the road.
Please Note
We keep the group size to a max of 20 riders to ensure the best from the training camp.
Mountain Bike
In the extreme northeast of Spain, along the Mediterranean Sea is the region of Catalonia and from Barcelona to the French coast is a traveler's paradise: beaches, sunshine year round, medieval villages, art, architecture, and history - all the way to ancient history! On top of that, the region has become a cycling mecca of sorts, with a number of pro teams and cylclists coming to the very charming town of Girona, located an hour north of Barcelona, to find great off-season riding and training. In Girona, one can find the new and the old - with a city built up around a very long history, the old city offers narrow cobblestone streets that have been preserved and yet all the modern conveniences available. It is around the charming city that our cycling program is set.
The cycling on this tour is considered very challenging, and can be modified to increase mileage on a daily basis if necessary. The terrain is not flat, and some days while mileage appears low, it is over mostly hilly terrain. We can also offer this tour for most of the year. See below for what is included and how it works.
Arrival Day (Girona).
Arrival Girona . . Transfer to the hotel - a small 4 star hotel in the charming old village of Garriguella. You will have an orientation at 7pm, go to do bike
set up, and then free time before dinner.
Riding Details:
Salines - Bassegoda has an important network of paths (600 kilometres and 33 routes), with a wide range of possibilities. Short walks for family excursions and to discover the territory and, for the more expert mountain bikers, long distance journeys and routes of great technical and physical difficulty. You’ll enjoy discovering the mountains and hollows, admiring the breathtaking landscape of the Empordà plane, and Muga, Arnera and Manol valleys and Boadella reservoir. Areas that enrich the trips with inviting colourful natural surroundings. You’ll discover Romanesque architecture, hermitages, churches, bridges, dolmens and menhirs that lay testimony to the past. Time and environment have given the right ingredients that turn the Salines - Bassegoda gastronomy into a paradigm that must be tasted, in the hotels, restaurants and ruralhouses that can be found everywhere.

Excellent riding on mixed terrain and top-notch singletrack in the valleys of the central Pyrenees.
This mountain bike week is carefully designed to make the most of the awesome array of singletrack trails in this area, and has the flexibility to cater to those with and without singletrack experience. Each day has a mixture of surfaces, from short climbs on tarmac to scenic fire roads and more exciting and narrower trails. But as the week progresses we gradually include more and more singletrack and by the end of the week you will have the skills and confidence to tackle the steep and narrow with ease.
For those still unsure, the most difficult sections can always be opted out of, if you feel you have reached your technical limit. Add to this the fabulous Pyrenean scenery and a cosy mountain lodge, and you have a perfect mountain bike week.
